Description
Simonds Simalock bits and shanks are super for sawing all kinds of logs – especially hard woods and frozen logs. This design has a blind vee. It doesn’t extend to the end of the bit, yet locks onto the plate extra tightly. And the special shank mates precisely with the bit profile to form an immovable union. A ridged lock-up that locks out creeps and minimized chances of shoulder breakage. It assures that the Simalock bits and shanks will take longer, harder and heavier feeds between sharpenings.
Popular Inserted Tooth Bit Saw Patterns
- The #2 1/2 is specifically designed for fast smooth cutting, for mills of good power, fast feed and uniform high speed. Excellent for knotty timber because more teeth of this pattern can be put in a saw of given diameter that with any other pattern.
- The #3 pattern is an excellent general purpose saw and the most recommended for portable sawmills. Coarser teeth than the #2 1/2 pattern require less power to operate.
- The B pattern is for mills requiring a medium tooth for cutting soft, hard or frozen timber. It is also used in heavy duty edgers.
- The popular F pattern is for mills requiring a fine tooth for cutting soft, hard or frozen timber. Your best choice for general purpose sawing.
